Wee want to chat

Little leak, mini wee, sneeze pee, escapee (our personal favourite). If you’ve experienced it, you’ll know what any of them are referring to. And you’re by no means alone. An estimated 40%[i] of all women in the UK experience stress incontinence, with 45% of these women in the 25-44 age bracket[ii]. What’s more, studies have also shown that millions of women’s lives are negatively affected it, avoiding activities such as sports, travelling, socializing, and sex.

Despite all this, bladder weakness is still often dismissed as nothing more than an embarrassing inconvenience associated with aging. Lack of education on the condition, and the stigma surrounding it, means that this is just one more female health issue that many women choose to suffer in silence and which remains underreported to healthcare professionals who may be able to provide solutions. It’s unsurprising therefore, that most women don’t want to engage with the topic which also includes purchasing the right products to keep them comfortable.

That’s why at Freda we want to talk about this and have launched our Bladder Care pad. Responsibly made in Sweden in a zero landfill waste factory, discrete and individually wrapped, our Bladder Care pads offer the product women need with no compromise on values. We believe the combination of open conversation coupled with a product which will keep women feeling like themselves is a step in the right direction to tackling this issue. Stress incontinence can be treated with certain exercises so we encourage anyone experiencing it to speak to their GP. But as there’s sadly no magic wand for a quick fix, our range is here to support in the meantime.
